Obeya is developing rapidly. In many organizations Obeya’s are popping-up like mushrooms. Usually different types of Obeya’s, in different forms and with different ways of working. This is a clear indication of its success! However, if not managed properly, falling victim to its own success is a real risk. We experience that in these situations questions are being asked, for example how the Obeya’s relate to the organizations governance and management model, how the Obeya’s relate to each other, the wish to connect and consolidate Obeya’s, the need to standardize way of working over Obeya’s etc. We believe that the concept of "Scaling Obeya" can help to face these challenges. We will dive into the concept of scaling Obeya, share with you a prototype of the model we have developed, and would like to test the model together with you.

Key learnings:
  1. You will have a view on the key challenges around expanding Obeya’s within organizations, focused on the type and form of Obeya’s, the steps and challenges in growth of Obeya and the role of Obeya within strategic portfolio management
  2. You will understand what the concept of Scaling Obeya is and how this concept can help to face the challenges of growing Obeya within your company
  3. You will experience what patterns are important and test a prototype model and also have a view on lessons learned on how other organizations deal with the challenges of scaling
